The short version
- MTG Deckbuilder does not collect, store, or sell any personal information.
- Your decks, library, and settings are stored locally on your device only.
- Card searches query the Scryfall API — only the card name or search term is sent, nothing else.
- Camera access is used only for scanning card names. No images are stored or transmitted.
- No accounts. No sign-in. No tracking. No ads.
1 About This Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how JonnyP Industries ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the MTG Deckbuilder app ("the App") on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
We built MTG Deckbuilder to be a private, offline-first tool. We have no interest in your personal data and have designed the App so that none needs to be collected.

2 Information We Collect

3 Third-Party Services — Scryfall
When you search for a card by name, or scan a card with your camera, the App sends that card name as a search query to the Scryfall API (scryfall.com) to retrieve card data such as artwork, mana cost, and rules text.
The only information sent to Scryfall is the card name or search term you typed or scanned. No personal information, device identifiers, or account data is ever sent.
Scryfall operates under its own privacy policy, available at scryfall.com/docs/privacy. We have no control over Scryfall's data practices.
4 Camera Access
The App requests access to your device camera solely to enable the card scanning feature, which uses on-device optical character recognition (OCR) to read the name printed on a Magic: The Gathering card.
Camera frames are processed entirely on your device in real time. No images or video are stored, saved, or transmitted anywhere — not to our servers, not to Scryfall, not to any third party.
You can revoke camera access at any time in your device Settings. The rest of the App will continue to work normally without it.
5 Local Data Storage
All data you create in the App — decks, card library entries, preferences — is stored locally on your device using standard system storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself.
If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device. We do not retain any copies.
6 Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App collects no personal information from any user, it presents no particular risk in this regard. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
7 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Because we collect no personal data, changes to this policy are unlikely to affect you in any meaningful way.
